Omaha, NE

Omaha is the closest of the destination cities mentioned here, so it can be great for either a short visit over a weekend or a day trip, depending on what you want to do. You could visit the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium, which is one of the top zoos in the nation. If you prefer museums, there’s El Museo Latino, which chronicles Latino history in the Midwest, and the Joslyn Art Museum, which houses tons of beautiful pieces of art in gorgeous pink marble buildings. Oklahoma City is so much more than the capital city of Oklahoma. Oklahoma City also has plenty of interesting sites to see, such as the Myriad Botanical Garden and the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.
