2023 Chevy Bolt EV vs. EUV: What's the Difference?

With their current crop of electric cars (Bolt and Bolt EUV), plus the upcoming addition of Silverado EV and all-electric Blazer and Equinox models, it’s clear that Chevrolet is all-in on electric vehicles. That’s what we in the business call “good timing,” as gas prices are bananas and federal tax credits are still being underutilized.

So, you’re here, trying to figure out whether you should buy a Bolt EV or a Bolt EUV. They kind of look the same. They definitely sound the same. And they’ve got the same guts. Are they the same? What gives?

Here’s a side-by-side comparison of Bolt EV vs. EUV dimensions, range, space and features — because knowledge is power.

The Bolt hatchback offers slightly more driving range, cargo volume, and better charge times than the Bolt SUV. Not to be outdone by its smaller sibling, the Bolt EUV offers more passenger volume and several EUV-only features, listed below.

Super Cruise with Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking

Available only on the Chevrolet Bolt EUV, Super Cruise provides hands-free, semi-autonomous driving on more than 200,000 miles of roads. Its innovative lane-detection system utilizes several advanced sensors and cameras to essentially drive itself. Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, also exclusive to the Bolt SUV, reduces the severity of or altogether avoids front-end collisions.

Rear Seat Reminder

This life-saving safety feature handily reminds you to check the back row for pets, children or even just gallons of milk. When the system detects the use of the rear door, the system activates; audible chimes within the cabin and visual warnings on the dashboard are triggered when the Bolt EUV turns off.

Heated & Ventilated Seats

Keep comfortable no matter the temperature outside with Bolt EUV’s ventilated and heated front seats. The electric Bolt SUV also has available heated rear outboard seats, which aren’t available in the electric Bolt car.

Panoramic Sunroof

Get that pure, open-air driving experience in the Bolt EUV. Its panoramic sunroof, available only on the Bolt EUV Premier model, also features a dual-panel power sunshade to keep those UVs to a minimum.

Luggage Rack

Another advantage to buying a Bolt EUV: It’s got a standard roof rack with side rails, which can be fitted with available cross rails (ordered at a Chevy parts store near you). Camping just got easier!
