Looking at cars can be extremely fun. After all, when you go to a car show near you, you’re usually not looking at everyday sedans, minivans, or SUVs. Attending local car shows is a great way to see classic cars or high-end ones, depending on where you go. You can learn about how these cars work, what it takes for the owners to maintain them, or just kick back and admire their appearance.
Luckily, the Kansas City area has several upcoming car shows that you can attend in the next two months. Let’s go over some of them to determine where they’re happening, how much admission costs, and what each one is about.
Cars & Coffee at Kansas City Automotive Museum
The Kansas City Automotive Museum is holding their Cars & Coffee event monthly. During this event, the Museum lowers their usual $9 admission fee to $5 and provides free coffee to visitors. They can then wander the museum and look at KCAM’s current crop of classic vehicles. They rotate their vehicles throughout the year, so if you attend this event in August, you’ll see different vehicles now than you would at a different time of year.
Date: Monthly
Time: 8:00 am-10:00 am

Westport Wheels Cars Show
Westport KC is holding their second annual Westport Wheels Car Show on August 24. This event is free to the public. Some car shows just show off interesting vehicles to the public without putting anything at stake. That’s not the case here. At Westport Wheels, the cars and their owners compete against each other in various categories and win trophies at the end. Think of it like a dog show, but with cars! Each one of them will be polished and looking their best when they’re on display here. It can be a lot of fun to look at cars that are in a competition because if you come with a friend, partner, or group, you can discuss the different entries and decide which you think should win in each category.
