The Chevy Camaro has been a leader of American muscle cars for many years, delivering powerful engines, agile handling, and thrilling rides to drivers who want more than the standard sedans. The Camaro may continue to innovate by reintroducing the model as a fully electric powerhouse, but we may not get it for a couple more years.
Wonder what’s going on? You’re in good company. However, we’ll share all the details we have on the potential 2027 Chevrolet Camaro EV that we presently have as this vehicle continue to exist (or not exist) shrouded in mystery. Let’s dive in.
What We Know

Chevy announced that the 2024 Camaro would be the last year the model would be built, though they also said that the name could live on in a different form. Rumor has it that Ford’s reintroduction of the Mustang as an SUV got the gears at Chevrolet turning and the Camaro would debut as an all-electric crossover. These whispers were heard a couple years ago, with a 2026 Camaro being the goal.
Unfortunately, Chevrolet execs decided to put a pause on the idea. It could be that they didn’t want to explore the Camaro again so soon; it could be that they wanted to see how the Ford Mustang Mach-E (the all-electric model) fared in the market. The Camaro and Mustang have long been rivals, so it wouldn’t be too shocking to see the Camaro return in a similar fashion.
Heck, considering Chevy’s definition of a Camaro, “A small, vicious animal that eats Mustangs,” the Mach-E is ripe for a hungry competitor.
2027 Chevrolet Camaro Specs

Whether or not the heads of Chevy can come to a consensus on the vehicle, if the 2027 Chevrolet Camaro EV happens, it has a number of single and dual-motor options it can borrow from its siblings, though for an animal that should eat Mustangs, they’re probably going to have some form of special tuning, or the truly powerful versions will be locked behind more exclusive trims.
If Chevy uses the Blazer EV’s dual motor, all-wheel drive setup, we could see power output in the range of approximately 625 horsepower. If they opted for three electric motors, we could easily see 1,000+ horsepower, which would race alongside the Chevy Corvette ZR1X. However, since things are so hush-hush and Chevrolet hasn’t made any announcements, we can only speculate. Would be nice to have 1,000 horsepower under the hood of a Camaro, though this would likely be the ultimate trim. We do know that Chevy wants to focus on affordability, so lower trims will likely only clock in somewhere in the 200+ horsepower range, which is more than enough.
2027 Chevy Camaro Interior
While we only know so little about the 2027 Camaro specs, we know virtually nothing about the interior. Cloth seats are possible, though because the Camaro would be an EV, they may opt for Evotex, Chevy’s synthetic leather, as the upholstery of choice. Chevy has increased the standard sizes of the infotainment systems in SUVs, and if the Camaro EV does adopt an SUV body, we can possibly expect to see a larger infotainment system. It could ship with either the 11.3” model, or if Chevy really wants to push the tech boundaries in the Camaro, we could see the massive 17.7” system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are likely tech features, possibly a rearview camera or HD Surround Vision, and likely a host of driver assistance features.
